Mr. Lawson, Zoning C.E.O. gave report.
- Lawson said he had a request from Mr. Johnson to have an upholstery shop down by the old bate pond. He mentioned that that specific request is not listed in the zoning law for the AR district.
- Lawson said the ducks and chickens that are in the front yard of a resident’s home on Route 394 can be there per the zoning law.
Mr. Sena, Town Councilman gave Town report and invited the Planning Board to the centennial picnic
TRANSIENT RENTALS
-Mr. Lawson said he does not want to see the town take away transient rentals but said we need to have a law with some restrictions.
-The board reviewed the Transient / Commercial Use of Dwelling Units from Ellery.
-Mr. Rice was concerned with them requiring the owners to provide a local contact person. It was decided to take out the word local and just require them to provide an immediate contact.
-Mr. Rice questioned if the transient renters had access to our transfer station. It was decided that the owner of the property will be responsible for providing instructions to their renters for trash removal.
-Mr. Rice said he does not want to police parking. He said if there is illegal parking it might be something the sheriff can monitor.
-Mr. Rice suggested the transient rental regulations extent to all districts in the town, not only the R1 district.
-Mr. Warner asked if a professional must come in and inspect to make sure the house has working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The board agreed that the owner can state they have them.
NUESANCE LAW
-Mr. Lawson said he has had complaints about the helicopter landing, dirt bikes, ATVs and snowmobile being a noise and nuisance.
-There was short discussion on having a nuisance law. There will be farther discussion at the next meeting on the nuisance law. The board was given a copy of the nuisance law Lakewood has in place.
-Mr. Rice asked if they should motion to except the transient law and Brad said we need to decide if it is going to be a town law or an amendment to the zoning law. Brad said he would like to have it typed up and ready for the next meeting before we agree on it.
Next regular meeting scheduled for July 9, 2019 at 7:00 P.M.
