Mr. Rice called the meeting to order. Members discussed the proposed grocery and asked questions about the proposed grocery. Board members asked about hours of operation.
Mr. Smucker said 8 to 5 Monday through Thursday, 8 to 6 on Friday and 8 to 3 on Saturday. He stated they would be closed on Sunday. He explained they would have 2 to 3 semis deliver goods each month. They would employ four to six people. They have salvage goods and all would be sold inside. He said there would be no refrigeration.
Mr. Wroda said in response to a question that there is 1 ½ acres.of paved parking lot.
Board members discussed the area and suggested the auction building site, the ball field and the two lots adjacent to the auction house be included in a new district: that hours of operation be:
limited to 8 to 6
that a pine tree buffer or shrubs be required for adequate buffering
that signage and lighting be limited.
Member suggested uses that would be appropriate for that area as: arts and crafts; general retail, an auction house, and antique shop. They required that off street parking be provided and that weight restrictions be placed on Mulberry so trucks would not be going through.
